Constant Energy’s Killala Energy Hub has taken a major step forward, with plans to deploy breakthrough membrane-free electrolysers from UK-based CPH2. An MoU sets the groundwork for up to 200 MW of green hydrogen capacity over the next decade, beginning with five 1-MW units targeted for operation by 2027–2028.

The site has secured planning permission and will integrate wind and solar to produce green hydrogen for peaking power, grid injection, and local fuelling infrastructure. For CPH2, the move signals commercial momentum following successful testing of its patented technology.

For energy leaders, this signals Ireland’s accelerating push towards integrated hydrogen infrastructure, and the rising commercial readiness of next-gen electrolyser tech.
