Siemens Energy has been tapped to lead a feasibility study for the proposed Marram Energy Storage Hub (MESH)—a major decarbonisation and storage project in the Irish Sea surrounded by up to 8 GW of offshore wind. Spearheaded by EnergyPathways, MESH aims to deliver long-duration, low-carbon energy using advanced compressed air and integrated gas systems.
The study will lay the groundwork for one of the UK’s most ambitious energy storage projects, potentially setting the stage for the country’s largest hydrogen storage facility and ensuring flexible backup power for a renewables-dominated grid.
Explore how Siemens and EnergyPathways are helping the UK transition to a secure, low-carbon energy system.
