Sindh has allocated 300 acres in Jhimpir for a 100 MW hybrid wind and solar power plant — its first business-to-business renewable energy project under the Sindh Electric Power Regulatory Authority. The electricity will be supplied directly to industries in Nooriabad, aiming to cut costs and strengthen industrial competitiveness while driving a low-carbon future.

With 65 MW from wind and 35 MW from solar, the project has already secured agreements with over a dozen industrial clients at Rs20 per kilowatt. Backed by planned financing from local banks and the World Bank’s $7 billion Green Fund, the initiative signals a shift towards decentralised power generation and provincial-led energy autonomy.

Officials say this B2B model could fast-track investment, create jobs, and serve as a blueprint for other provinces navigating energy debt and grid constraints.
