
Irish firms prioritise energy security and back renewables despite higher costs
A vast majority of Irish businesses are willing to pay a premium for faster access to renewable energy, as concerns mount over the reliability of future energy supply. According to new EY Ireland research, 96% of firms would invest more to accelerate their green transition, with 68% citing fears around long-term energy availability. The findings point to a growing urgency among companies to balance sustainability with resilience—especially as global shocks and domestic demand continue to pressure the grid.
