Vietnam-based technology provider FPT Corporation and E.ON Optimum, the digital solutions division of UK energy giant E.ON, have extended their partnership to advance AI-powered energy management solutions. The renewed agreement builds on a collaboration launched in 2022, reinforcing both companies’ focus on digital innovation and sustainability in the energy sector.

Under the updated agreement, FPT will continue to develop and maintain E.ON Optimum’s cloud-based energy management platform. The system provides business energy users with real-time, flexible data analytics, enabling more informed and timely decisions on net-zero energy usage. The next phase prioritises enhancements to web applications and the integration of FPT’s AI technology for forecasting energy consumption and pricing.

Since the initial partnership, FPT has managed the Optimum platform end-to-end, including web application development, architecture design, and AI/ML-based energy forecasting using weather and consumption data. This has strengthened E.ON’s digital capabilities and improved customer experience across the UK and broader European markets.

The collaboration also explores further technology engagements with E.ON, expanding operational resilience and global delivery capacity. In 2023, both companies examined establishing a delivery centre in Vietnam to support SAP, ServiceNow, Sitecore, DevOps, and cloud-based services. These initiatives underpin E.ON’s strategy to deliver scalable, sustainable, and customer-focused energy solutions.

Leaders emphasised that the collaboration enhances operational efficiency, sustainability, and digital innovation. E.ON Optimum’s Head of Digital Product highlighted improvements in user engagement and satisfaction, while FPT noted that AI-enabled solutions will accelerate energy transition and grid management across business operations.
