Cork bets big on offshore wind

Ireland’s first dedicated offshore energy facility is set to open this October at the Port of Cork. With a €100m investment, the 200m CORE1 deepwater berth will give offshore wind developers a purpose-built quayside to build large-scale projects in the Irish and Celtic Seas. Positioned alongside the Cork Container Terminal, this move signals a major step in strengthening Ireland’s offshore supply chain capability and accelerating its clean energy ambitions.
