CleanPeak Energy, an Australian distributed energy operator, has expanded its renewable infrastructure portfolio after acquiring Sustainable Energy Infrastructure, adding solar and battery storage assets across multiple states.
Business News Australia reported that CleanPeak Energy acquired 100 per cent of SEI, expanding its portfolio with 71 MWac of solar and 42 MW of battery storage across NSW, Victoria and South Australia.
The acquisition follows KKR’s 500 million strategic investment in CleanPeak through its Global Climate Transition strategy, supporting expansion of distributed generation assets.
CleanPeak said it currently delivers more than 200 million in construction projects and has a pipeline of 100 MW solar and 300 MWh battery storage.
“SEI brings together a high quality portfolio of distributed solar and battery assets that align perfectly with CleanPeak’s vision to develop a smarter, cleaner and more resilient renewable energy portfolio," says Graham, the CleanPeak CEO.
"By integrating SEI into our platform, we are not only expanding our national footprint but also strengthening our ability to provide low-cost and reliable renewable energy to customers," says Graham.
"This acquisition positions us to accelerate the growth of our retail business while continuing to lead in the development of distributed energy solutions. We’re excited to build on SEI’s strong foundations and unlock the next phase of growth together," he added.
Closing remains subject to shareholder approval and Nasdaq listing requirements, with completion expected following the May 2026 meeting.
The transaction reflects broader consolidation in distributed solar and battery infrastructure markets as operators scale portfolios to support commercial and industrial energy demand growth across Australia.
The deal also strengthens CleanPeak’s position as it deploys KKR-backed capital into its pipeline of renewable energy projects.
