The Business Energy Achievement Awards 2026 is pleased to announce the shortlist of finalists across this year's award categories. Winners will be announced at the Awards Gala on 16 September 2026 at the Crowne Plaza Hotel, Santry, bringing together Ireland's leading energy practitioners for an evening of recognition, industry networking, and celebration of measurable energy excellence. The awards programme serves as Ireland's national benchmark for energy performance, recognising the organisations that are raising the bar across every sector of the economy.

This year's programme spans nineteen award categories, reflecting the full breadth of Ireland's energy transition and the diverse sectors through which organisations are delivering verifiable progress. The scale and variety of the shortlist underlines how energy management and decarbonisation have become strategic priorities across Irish industry, from large multinationals to SMEs and public bodies. Categories recognising sector-specific performance include Best Energy Management Team, Best Energy Achievement in Food and Beverage, Best Energy Excellence in Healthcare and Life Sciences, Best Energy Achievement in Manufacturing, Best Energy Excellence in Commercial Operations, Best Energy Achievement in Utilities, and Best Energy Achievement in Public Sector.

Further categories address emerging and expanding areas of energy performance, including Best Energy Excellence in Food, Agriculture and Consumer Products, Sustainable Energy Achievement in Water Usage, Best Energy Excellence in Campuses, Tourism and Public Venues, Best Energy Achievement in Transport, Digital Innovation in Energy Management, Best Achievement in Harnessing Solar Energy, Sustainable Construction and Building Performance, Best Energy Achievement in Innovation and Demonstration, and Best Energy Achievement in Company Performance. Together these categories reflect the growing expectation that sustainability performance must be embedded across every function and sector, not confined to traditional energy-intensive industries.

Innovation in decarbonisation is recognised across three scales, with dedicated categories for Innovation in Decarbonisation — Large, Innovation in Decarbonisation — Medium, and Innovation in Decarbonisation — Small, ensuring that ambition and achievement at every organisational scale receives the recognition it deserves. This tiered approach is a deliberate acknowledgement that meaningful decarbonisation is happening at every level of Irish industry, and that the most replicable solutions often emerge from organisations operating with limited resources but considerable ingenuity.

The Overall Energy Achievement Award and Energy Leader 2026 will both be announced on the night.
