This award is open to any organisation in Ireland that has made improvements or used innovative methods to result in energy water savings or water quality improvement. The judges will want to know everything you do in order to reduce energy efficiency in water usage. You must explain what you have achieved so far, particularly over the last 12 months, and what you hope to achieve in the future. And we need to see evidence of an overall strategy that sets out your targets and how you plan to achieve them and statistics demonstrating year-on-year comparisons. Entry is by a 5-page A4 PDF submission; the judges will be looking for a clear plan and evidence that it is delivering on core objectives, paying particular attention to the criteria listed below.

  • Organisation Background: Briefly describe your organisation’s size, industry, and annual water usage. Highlight any relevant water management certifications, sustainability benchmarks, or environmental commitments related to water and energy efficiency.
  • Strategy & Objectives: Summarise your sustainable water strategy, including key goals and measurable targets. Explain how your approach integrates energy efficiency in water usage and contributes to broader sustainability or net-zero objectives.
  • Implementation & Innovation: Describe the steps taken to reduce water and energy consumption, including any innovative technologies, smart systems, or process improvements implemented. Highlight unique methods that have enhanced efficiency or sustainability.
  • Engagement & Commitment: Explain how employees, stakeholders, and the wider community are engaged in your water conservation and energy efficiency efforts. Provide details on leadership involvement, staff training, and awareness initiatives.
  • Measurable Outcomes & Future Goals: Provide quantifiable results, such as reductions in water and energy consumption, cost savings, or improvements in operational efficiency. Showcase year-on-year progress and outline future plans for further enhancements in water sustainability and energy management.
