This award is open to any organisation in Ireland that has implemented innovative strategies or technologies to reduce carbon emissions and advance decarbonisation efforts within their operations or industry. The judges will want to understand the steps you have taken to minimise carbon impact, including the innovations, technologies, or process improvements you have introduced. You must explain what you have achieved so far, particularly over the last 12 months, and outline your future decarbonisation goals. Entries should provide evidence of a comprehensive decarbonisation strategy, setting out clear targets, how they are being achieved, and measurable results—such as carbon reduction data, energy efficiency improvements, or renewable energy adoption—with year-on-year comparisons. Submissions must be in a 5-page A4 PDF format. Judges will be looking for a clear strategy, innovation, and measurable impact, with particular focus on the criteria outlined below.

  • Organisation Background: Briefly describe your organisation’s size, industry, and key operations related to energy use and carbon emissions. Highlight any relevant sustainability certifications or net-zero commitments.
  • Strategy Overview: Summarise your decarbonisation strategy, including its key goals, measurable targets, and alignment with Ireland’s sustainability objectives.
  • Implementation: Describe how you have put your strategy into action, including the steps taken to reduce carbon emissions, implement energy-efficient solutions, and any innovative technologies or methods used.
  • Commitment: Explain how you engage employees, stakeholders, and the wider community in your decarbonisation efforts. Detail the level of leadership support and any training initiatives that encourage sustainable practices.
  • Outcomes & Results: Highlight the measurable impact of your decarbonisation efforts, including reductions in carbon emissions, energy savings, cost efficiencies, or operational improvements. Provide data showcasing year-on-year progress.
