This award is open will recognise outstanding sustainable energy initiatives undertaken in Ireland’s pharmaceutical industry. The judges will want to know everything you do to reduce your energy use and carbon dioxide emissions. You must explain what you have achieved so far and what you hope to achieve in the future. And we need to see evidence of an overall strategy that sets out your targets and how you plan to achieve them and hard statistics demonstrating year-on-year comparisons. Entry is by a 5 A4 page submission; the judges will be looking for freshness of content and clear information and evidence of delivery on core objectives, paying attention to the criteria listed below.
- Organisation background: Outline the size and nature of your organisation. Include your annual energy spend and any accreditation, benchmarking, or external validation. · Strategy Background: Provide a background of your energy strategy, outlining how it was developed, its objectives, and the measurable targets set.
- Implementation: Provide an overview of how the strategy was implemented efficiently and effectively. Include all steps taken so far to improve energy efficiency, increase use of renewables and/ or reduce emissions (direct and indirect).
- Organisation Commitment: Please describe the commitment that has been made to staff training and communication for your energy initiatives. What is the level of buy-in and support from the organisation and its stakeholders?
- Outcomes & Results: Summarise the practical benefits of your energy initiatives up to now, detailing benefits to the environment and the organisation. Include all achievements made in reducing energy demand and increasing your use of renewables. Show comparisons to previous years where possible and describe how the impacts and benefits were measured and reported.
- Supporting facts & statements: Include any other facts or statements that you feel are relevant to support the entry.
- Strategy Background: Provide a background of your energy strategy, outlining how it was developed, its objectives, and the measurable targets set.
